Bridge to the Silence—Integrative Dramatherapy with Selective Mutism

This article is presented as a clinical case study in research and the arts that explores journey of 7-year-old girl with selective mutism, her growth through an integrative intervention combined dramatherapy, systemic, behavioral, attachment-informed approaches. Sessions took place Shanghai, China. Gorla et al. (2017) [Without words. Different children different contexts (Trans.). A.G. Oaklands] propose significant others person can become therapeutic agents change, this lens, child’s family, peers, school staff became involved. Through use play relationship coming together specialties community, it posited client found voice again, enhancing relationships embarking on lasting change. The dramatherapy-based, multimodal provides example practice intended to assist therapists, schools, practitioners looking support individual mutism.
